Marcia Hedrick
I am a small town home breeder located in central WashingtonState.
I had received my first Shih Tzu in 1973 as a gift from mybrother and sister-in-law. Suki, willalways be my number one mascot. It wasthe love that I had received from Suki and the bonding that we shared thathelped me make up my mind to continue to better this breed.
In 2006, I joined the Chinese Imperial Dog Club (CIDCA) andhave been a member ever since.
In 2008, I became one of the founding members of theImperial Shih Tzu Information Society (ISIS) and now one of the foundingmembers of the Imperial Shih Tzu Playhouse.
I have met a lot of very helpful breeders throughout theyears. For all of them, I would like tothank each and everyone of them from the bottom of my heart for all of theirlove and support.
I’ve had a seen a lot of excellent breeders close theirdoors due to our economy and a lot that just slowed down their breedingprogram. These breeders were some of thebest that I’ve ever came across. Theynot only tested their dogs, but were honest with their puppy buyers. They taught me that if you were going to bein this business that you better do it right or don’t do it at all. Some of them have meant so much to me and Iowe them a lot and they will be deeply missed.
Julie DeLeeuw
My name is Julie
DeLeeuw; I live in Tooele, Utah. I have loved animals (mostly dogs) all of my
life. I worked for a veterinarian for several years and I found it very
rewarding, I am a cosmetologist by trade but have been tending my youngest
grandson for the last couple of years. I have always wanted to raise dogs and
did a lot of research before I decided that the Shih Tzu was the dog for me! I
am happily married to my best friend and between us we have 4 beautiful
daughters and 9 grandchildren. I have 5 dogs, 4 Shih Tzu's and 1 13 year old
cockapoo who is a very sweet girl! My fur babies are like my kids and they run
the house. I have a 3 year old female named Mischa, a 3 year old female named
Elle, a 7 month old female named Suri, a 7 month old named Brei, and last but
not least our Stud Kipu who is 18 months old. They are all spoiled rotten and we
love them to death!!

Jeri Raymo
Well
Hi! My name is Jeri and my husband is Jackson. We live in Surprise Arizona,
raising our tiny dogs as well as our grandsons. We also self employed, Jackson
creates beautiful hand crafted buckles, bracelets and accessories. So between us
all in our home 24-7 our puppies are very socialized. I must say, I've been
watching the Chinese Imperial Dog Club growing fast over the past few years.
First time I visited, there was only a hand full of members. At the time, I was
encouraged to join although didn't feel we had enough tiny dogs to qualify, most
in the 9-10 pound range. Coming from tiny sires, many were naturally having
puppies that matured at only 5-8 pounds and they were so adorable.. how could
anyone not love a tiny Imperial? They fit so sweet in your lap! True love in a
tiny package!
Well, we now have seven AKC registered Shih
Tzus under their standard size requirements... So thought it time to join and
support this group to help others understand these sweet tiny dogs need a home
of their own... to be recognize by AKC as Chinese Imperials.
Please visit our website.. it's not
professionally done.. although created with love.. always a work in progress. We
currently do not have the weights of our dogs listed although if you email us we
can let you know which ones are tiny.
Denise Vanhuysen
My name is Denise
VanHuysen, I live in sunny Arizona with my hubby who is a painting contractor. I
help with the business when I have the time, watching 4 Chinese Imperials, 2
Boxer's, and 1 cat keeps me busy. I am a hobby breeder only having a couple
litters a year. I breed for conformation, size, temperament and of course
healthy happy babies.
When I went to buy my first 2 Shih Tzu's they were really Chinese Imperials, at that time I wasn't sure what imperials were. I read all I could get my hands on about the imperial size and I'm still learning. I love this breed and so glad I found this club to help me learn more.

Leanna Buescher
We
are the Buescher Family and our love for the Shih Tzu breed started when we
brought home our Skittles. Our son, Shaun, had been seriously injured on the ski
slopes in Park City, Utah while we were on a family vacation in January 2005. It
was a traumatic experience for our boy, but awful for our entire family watching
our son go through the pain of the injury, the surgery and long recovery. It is
one of the worst things a family can go through. We knew ahead of time Shaun
would need another surgery to remove all the hardware that was used in the first
surgery to fix his leg, and we all dreaded the upcoming date on our calendar. My
husband and I wanted to do something special for Shaun to help keep him happy
during another lengthy recovery. I had always been very allergic to dogs but I
had heard that the Shih Tzu breed was hypo allergenic. I visited my good friend
Jeri’s home (who is a Shih Tzu breeder out here in Arizona) and I was so happy
to find that I did not have any allergic reaction! We immediately put a deposit
down on the cutest little puppy we ever saw.... our Skittiles!
